Sole technology

PDFPrintE-mail

The newly developed Baak soles are characterized in particular by its innovative design associated with state-of-the-art sole materials (EVA/Rubber). Thanks to the use of an EVA midsole, the weight of the shoes has been reduced considerably and the pressure cushioning has also been optimised. For the wearer, this means that less of a strain is placed on the foot, the joints and the spinal cord thanks to the balanced distribution of pressure.
Undesirable strains on the body are compensated for and existing pain is alleviated, or is prevented altogether.

Who or what is EVA?

PDFPrintE-mail

EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-performance foam rubber whose elastic and cushioning properties ease pressure on the joints and spine.
It also meets the biomechanical demands of movement. This is why we often use EVA as a midsole material in many new models to prevent non-axial stress.
Additional advantages include its big temperature range from –30 °C to +170 °C and lightness.

Footprint measurement

PDFPrintE-mail

With electronic footprint measurement (pedography), the pressure loading under the foot is shown in colour during the natural rolling movement (from the heel over the outer ball up to the big toe).
The colours green and blue indicate less of a compressive load, and yellow and red indicate a high compressive load.

The less the compressive load, the bigger the release for the whole human skeleton.

ESD

ESD

ESD shoes meet the requirements stipulated in EN 61340-5-1. The electrical volume resistance is between 1 x 105 ohms and 3.5 x 107 ohms (or 0.1 Mohm to 35 Mohms).
Wearing ESD shoes is to be recommended if there is a need to reduce the build-up of an electrostatic charge by discharging the charges, e.g. in areas where there is an increased risk of fire or explosion, increased exposure to dust (flour mills), and when working on production facilities which have sensitive sensors and microchips.

The ESD version is an additional function; use in the normal antistatic range (105 ohms to 109 ohms) is permitted.
ESD shoes are not suitable for electricians or when working on sources which carry voltage (high voltage current). Insulating footwear is required for such work.
The climate and level of pollution in particular can have an impact on the volume resistance. The user is therefore advised to carry out regular checks on site.

Orthopaedic inserts

PDFPrintE-mail

Orthopädische Einlagen FigurIn future, it will be possible with many of the shoes from the company BAAK to fit orthopaedic inserts in accordance with the rule of the professional association, BGR 191.
In collaboration with the company „Springer“, we are particularly keen to offer the wearer of the shoe a supply of orthopaedic inserts which ensures the following:

  • Solution to the problems of individual orthopaedic needs
  • Time-saving measurement and handling with an orthopaedist on site.
  • Guarantee that the shoes satisfy EN 20345 following the amendment and offer the wearer the same level of protection as other products manufactured by the company BAAK (which is incidentally also the case with ESD models).
  • Only the use of „Basic AS“ and „Comfort AS“ insoles made by Springer is allowed.

The waterproof shoes of BAAK are equipped with a membran of:

SympaTex

Why Sympatex is different
Sympatex stands for the highest quality and sophisticated technology at a scale of just five micrometres. The high demands placed on their products make Sympatex one of the world's leading specialists for high-tech functional systems for clothing, shoes, accessories and medical-technical applications.
The highly developed Sympatex technology makes it possible to form a perfect combination of a wide range of laminates (the connection of membrane and carrier material) with tailor-made functions: the Sympatex membrane has a pore-free polyether-ester structure, which gives it its unique properties:

  • optimal breathable
  • 100 % waterproof
  • 100 % windproof
  • 100 % ecologically degradable
